Τhe program “Offerings to Zeus of Olympia” focuses on the Museum’s Bronze Collection.
The participants are learning about the objects that ordinary people and glorious generals offered to the god Zeus from 1050 BC to 480 BC.
By observing figurines, tripods, and military equipment, the participants understand Olympia’s role as a leading cult center and oracle, while connecting ancient offerings with modern-day “tamata” (votive offerings).
The program “Getting to Know Olympia and the Olympic Games” offers a comprehensive educational tour tailored to the age group of the participants.
From the Sacred Altis to the Museum, our educators guide the participants through the most important monuments and exhibits, helping them reconstruct the image of the ancient Olympic Games and the rituals.
The use of specially designed educational brochures and worksheets enhances the students’ observation skills and critical thinking
